re:        Application for a Grant from Parish Councils

As I am sure you are aware, the Rother District Citizensí Advice Bureau is a charity in its own right and is, therefore, responsible for raising its own funds to deliver our service to the people in Rother District. We are not funded by Government and rely on grants and donations for all our running costs.  We are, therefore   in need of funds to maintain our work and we wonder whether you are able to provide a grant to assist us.

The Bureau provides the advice people need for the problems they face.  It aims to improve the policies and practices that affect peopleís lives.  As well as our main Bureau in Bexhill, we run Outreach Sessions in Battle, Robertsbridge, Burwash, Ticehurst, Rye and Northiam. At present, we also provide home visiting to vulnerable people in isolated areas. Our grant funding from Comic Relief for this service runs out at the end of this year and we are anxious to continue to provide this valuable service to the most vulnerable in rural Rother.

The Bureau  relies on grants and donations to offer this full service and provide  free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.  It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.

You will no doubt appreciate that, during these difficult times, there is a heavy demand on the Bureauís services.

A copy of the Bureauís 2014  AGM report is attached.
