STATEMENT AS TO PERSONS NOMINATED AND NOTICE OF POLL FOR GENERAL ELECTION 06/05/10. The names of the five persons nominated for the Bexhill and Battle Constituency has been announced by the Acting Returning Officer.  

ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PARISH MEETING OF SEDLESCOMBE. This is the month when the community of Sedlescombe can come together to meet representatives from all three local authorities - the Parish Council, the District Council and the County Council as well as talk to people from our local businesses and clubs and societies. This year's Assembly is to be held on TUESDAY 27 APRIL in Sedlescombe Village Hall. Doors open at 7pm and the business part of the meeting will start at 7.30pm, probably lasting around an hour. Refreshments will follow. For the last few years, attendance has been around a hundred, one year topping one hundred and twenty five people. You will not be alone. Bring along any questions that you would like to raise.

Those setting up table displays can get into the hall from 6pm.

DOGS ON LEADS AT SEDLESCOMBE SPORTSFIELD. Rother District Council has given notice that it intends to introduce a Dog Control Order to make it an offence for a person to be in charge of a dog at Sedlescombe Sportsfield, if he does not keep the dog on a lead. Fixed penalty notices of £75 will apply.

Representations regarding this Order should be sent to Rother District Council by 7 May 2010. Further details can be found in the attachment.

If introduced, this Order will replace the long-standing Sedlescombe Parish Council byelaw requiring dogs to be kept on leads at the Sedlescombe Sportsfield.

BREDE HIGH WOODS. We are very fortunate to have Brede High Woods on our doorstep and events are held regularly to introduce people to various aspects of the wonderful woods. In April, there is a birdwatching walkand a bluebell walkboth on 25 April. The events are free to attend but book up very quickly. Please see the notices for information on how to book.
