Casual Vacancy, Sedlescombe Parish Council. At a meeting of Sedlescombe Parish Council on Tuesday 17 August, Jonathan Vine-Hall of Hurst House, Hurst Lane, Sedlescombe was chosen to fill the vacancy on the Parish Council caused by the resignation in May of Ralph Dellow. The Council was impressed with Mr Vine-Hall's long association with the Parish Council, as he has served on the Council's Emergency Committee and has undertaken a great deal of "hands-on" work replacing stiles with gates on Sedlescombe's public footpaths.

This will be a fairly short initial appointment as Parish Council elections will be held in May 2011 when qualified members of the public will have the opportunity to stand. All existing councillors who wish to continue on the Council will be required to resubmit their applications and, if more than nine applications are received by the due date, an election will be held in May. Parish Council elections are held every four years.
