Initially, they received two fixed penalty notices. Then, in November 2011, they pleaded guilty to similar offences and were fined the maximum £2,500. Further breaches were identified to which the Company pleaded not guilty. The case was heard in Hastings Magistrates Court on 24/04/12. The Company failed to attend and the Magistrates heard the case in their absence. They were again fined the maximum for the offence of £2,500.

In September 2010, Planning Enforcement officers had served an enforcement notice in relation to cars being sold on a piece of land that they didn't have permission to use. Two breaches of the notice were identified by Environment Health Enforcement and Planning Enforcement Officers. Again, they were fined the maximum fines for the offences under the Town & Country Planning Act of £10,000 each and full costs of £2,500 were awarded.

In summing up, the Magistrates commented on the seriousness of the offences and the quality of the evidence and testaments provided.
