PLANNING

 

The Committee met seventeen times during the year to consider forty-five Sedlescombe planning applications. The applications can be divided into

The District Council:

  • Rother Planning Seminar at Battle, 04/11/10
  • Transfer to electronic planning applications - two parishes are carrying out a pilot study
  • Local Development Framework - Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment briefing, 30/03/10

Public participation. Four out of the seventeen meetings were attended by members of the public. Six people in total, all of whom spoke to the Committee.

 

 

Other matters

  • Complaints received about the Budget Car Company passed to various local government departments
  • Complaints from School regarding legitimate use of new access from Pumphouse Yard to Gammons Way
  • Various meetings reported including with MP regarding proposed signs on A21 to advertise Sedlescombe businesses

FINANCE

 

The Finance Committee met four times during the year (June, October, December 2009 and March 2010) monitoring the Council's financial position and guiding its expenditure and income. The Asset Register and Risk Assessment reports were reviewed. The 2010/11 budget was drawn up.

 

No public attended.

 

CRIME & SAFETY

 

The Crime & Safety Advisory Committee met on just one occasion in September 2009, mainly to discuss communication between various agencies and to receive an update on anti-social behaviour in the Village, particularly at East View Terrace. As well as councillors and the clerk, the meeting was attended by Police Sgt Porter, PCSO Georghiou, Andrea Wood (Sussex Police Rother District Anti-social Behaviour Officer), Craig Atkins (Orbit South Community Investment Officer) and Mr Leslie Pritchard (Orbit Housing Association).

 

HERITAGE

 

The Committee met on three occasions (July & September 2009, February 2010) to make recommendations regarding the future maintenance of the pump and pumphouse.

 

No public attended.

 

SPORTSFIELD

 

A committee was set up by the Council and met just once in July 2009 to discuss various matters with members of the Sports Association regarding the pavilion and portacabin.
