1. Footpath 6, adjacent to Pine View, Balcombe Green - route of the School Walking Bus. East Sussex County Council's work to divert running water and add some surface chippings to the path which was planned for the summer did not take place. However, the Council has been assured that the work is still scheduled.

2. Footpath 6 between Orchard Way/Park Shaw to Gorselands. The broken handrail on this path was reported by a member of the public and passed on to the County Council.

3. Battle Footpath 52. This path which joins Sedlescombe Footpath 37, between the A21 and Battle Great Wood, was once a watercress field. Problems with drainage have been difficult in recent years and East Sussex County Council is doing what it can to retain the path. Further work is needed.

4. Footpath 13, opposite Vineyard. A member of the public phoned to say that the gate at the start of this path is locked. Although there is a padlock on the gate, the gate opens easily and is no problem.

5. Footpaths Working Group. The Parish Council's Working Group made up to Ralph Dellow, Reg Glew and Jonathan Vine-Hall have completed much valuable work on our public footpaths by replacing stiles with hand or kissing gates. David Mitchell would like to join the group.

The Parish Council holds a very good selection of hand tools which can be used for footpath work. Members of the Working Group should be aware of tool care and at least one person on each work day should be a qualified up-to-date first aider.
