P06/07.116 Minutes. The Chairman was authorised to sign the Minutes of the Meeting of the Committee held on 03/04/07.

P06/07.117 Interests. Members were reminded to declare interests as they arose.

P06/07.118 RR/2007/525/P, 1 Old Schoolmasters House, Great Sanders, Hurst Lane, Sedlescombe. Erection of barn for storage of military vehicles. The Committee noted receipt of several copy letters objecting to this proposal. It was also noted that the application has now been withdrawn.

P06/07.119 Planning applications

119.1 RR/2007/873/P Ambleside, Balcombe Green, Sedlescombe - Erection of extensions including roof lights and alterations. Cllr Foord reported on his inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval of the application.

119.2 RR/2007/940/P 17 Gorselands, Sedlescombe - Erection of conservatory to rear of property. Cllr Mrs Mitchell reported on her inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval of the application.

119.3 RR/2007/947/P 30 Gorselands, Sedlescombe - Addition of rear two bedroom dormer and rooflights. Cllr Mrs Mitchell reported on her inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval of the application.

119.4 RR/2007/978/C Sedlescombe C E Primary School, Brede Lane - Variation of condition 3* imposed upon permission RR/2495/CC to permit use of multi-use games area for 7 days/week (including public holidays) - winter months 0800-1700 and summer months (ie during BST) 0800-2000.

*Condition 3 stated "The MUGA hereby permitted shall not be used other than between the hours of 08:00 to 16:45 Mondays to Friday inclusive and at no time on Saturdays, Sundays, Public and Bank Holidays except for works of essential maintenance which are to be carried out in accordance with a schedule first submitted to and approved in writing by the Director of Transport and Environment."

Cllrs Mrs Wright reported on her inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval of the application which would allow, amongst other events, Saturday use by our thriving Junior Football Team for training purposes when the sportsfield is too wet. There might also be the opportunity for other youths to use it when staff are on the school premises. The Parish Council does, however, support the Environmental Health officer's suggestion that, initially, a one-year temporary permission is granted so that the effect on the neighbouring properties can be monitored. The School has kept the neighbours informed of this application.

RR/2007/400/P Beech Farm Bungalow, Hawkhurst Road, Sedlescombe. Erection of conservatory to side of the property Rother approved the application
RR/2007/522 Little Firwood, Kent Street, Sedlescombe. Demolition of existing buildings and erection of new dwelling including detached garage. Rother approved the application

The Clerk also reported the following regarding current planning applications:

RR/2007/686/P Coombe Wood, Sandrock Hill, Sedlescombe. Demolition of existing garage and carport and erection of detached pitch roof double garage. The applicant has stated that the garage will be for personal use and that he is willing to sign a written undertaking that the garage will not be used for commercial purposes.

RR/2006/3499/P Darwell Reservoir and Beauport Water Supply Works - Land in Mountfield, Whatlington, Sedlescombe, Westfield and Battle. See Minute P06/07.117. 4 Delivery Limited have confirmed that the route will be realigned and the working area reduced at the junction of Marley Lane and the A21 so that some mature trees can be retained.

RR/2007/378 Pestalozzi International Village, Sedlescombe. Erection of 6 dwellings with alteration to an existing access. The County Council has agreed to withdraw its recommendation for refusal as the proposed six dwellings are not expected to materially increase traffic to and from the site compared with the extant planning permissions. The County Council could not insist that the junction improvement to the site at the bottom of Chapel Hill is carried out in relation to this application. However, the County Council is insisting that the south entrance on to Cottage Lane is kept locked. Pestalozzi has confirmed that the existing gate will remain locked with access passes only available to employees of Pestalozzi and for emergency purposes.

RR/2007/397/P & RR/2007/282/P Pestalozzi International Village, Sedlescombe. Mr Chapman of Ashdown Cottage had written again to Rother District Council asking for the car park and maintenance shed/workshop to be moved to the other side of the village, which would be much safer. He has also asked for the classroom and greenhouse to be moved north of the proposed garden area to cut down on the noise and light pollution to properties in Cottage Lane.
