41.1 RR/2008/1529/P 4 Chapel Hill, Sedlescombe. Erection of conservatory to rear. Cllr Cameron reported on his inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval.
41.2 RR/2008/1676/P Bulmer Lodge, The Green, Sedlescombe. Erection of detached garage with art/hobby room over including addition of dormers. Cllr Wright reported on her inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council objects to the proposal as the height of the proposed garage would affect the amenities of the neighbouring property, Garners Cottage, by blocking the only view they have from their windows. It is suggested that a single storey garage with a shallow pitch roof would be more acceptable in this position.

The Chairman and Clerk had attended a Planning Workshop with Rother Planners this morning. Rother is trying to decide how to distribute the housing development numbers specified in the South East Plan and has produced various options, none of which were endorsed by the audience of Parish Council Chairmen and Clerks. Sedlescombe is expected to be allocated up to 30 new properties before 2026. Those attending the workshop were concerned at the lack of good infrastructure prior to additional development. Cllr Wright had asked the question "Where do we want to live, in a village or a town?" The Clerk will write to Rother concerning inaccuracies in the Village Appraisal for Sedlescombe and will query doing appraisals on small portions of parishes.
