Proposed pool room adjacent to existing swimming pool. Cllr Wright reported on her inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval as the building will not be obtrusive in the landscape.
P08/09.118.2 RR/2008/3509/P Manorside, The Street, Sedlescombe
Erection of two-storey extension and associated alterations. Cllr Cameron reported on his inspection. RESOLVED: That the Parish Council supports approval but notes that two pink planning notices have been incorrectly sited and the right of way for vehicular access and parking is not shown on the plan. Neighbours do not object to the proposal as long as windows facing their property remain obscured glass.

  1. RR/2008/1979/L 3 Manor Cottages, The Street, Sedlescombe. Refurbishment, repair etc. Listed Building Consent granted.
  2. RR/2008/3046/P Tamar, The Street, Sedlescombe. Single storey residential annexe. Conditional planning permission granted.
  3. RR/2008/3157/P and RR/2008/3158/L. Brickwall Hotel, Sedlescombe. Louvred grille for kitchen extract system. Conditional planning permission granted.
  4. RR/2008/3175/P RN French Building, The Street, Sedlescombe. Demolition of RN French building and erection of 2 three-bedroom dwellings with off-road parking. Conditional planning permission granted.
The Clerk reported that the Planning Officer has been delegated to approve RR/2008/3237/P Rear Queen's Head, erection of two houses.
P08/09.121 Lopping of trees at Dinos, Sedlescombe. Following receipt of a complaint that trees were being lopped at Dinos, the Clerk contacted Rother Planning. A reply had been received stating that the works were considered minor but that the owners had been reminded of the conditions attached to a previous planning approval.

The Clerk was asked to inform Rother Planning that trees remaining on the site had had soil built up around their trunks which, according to expert advice, will eventually kill the trees.

P08/09.122 Cartref, The Street, Sedlescombe. Broken down fence on building site. The Clerk had reported to Rother Planning that the fence at the front of the land had broken down and, could in high winds, blow into the road. There was also the possibility of trespassers entering the land. Rother Planning had advised contact with the Health & Safety Executive which the Clerk had left messages with. After the recent contact made with the Clerk by the Planning and Design Manager of Oakley Architecture and Design (detailed below), a temporary fence has been installed in the front of the site.

An e-mail had been received on 12/01/09 stating that Oakley Architecture and Design had been appointed by Westoak Homes to examine the possibility of developing the Cartref site. They have drafted a proposal to provide twelve 2 bedroom homes on the site but wish to speak to the Parish Council prior to starting negotiations with the District Planning Authority. Arrangements have been made for the Planning and Design Manager, Shaun Berry, to attend the next Planning Meeting on 27/01/09.

P08/09.123 Park View, The Street, Sedlescombe. Untidy building site. A letter had been received from a local resident complaining about the untidy state of this site. Rother's Enforcement Officer has been informed.
