Established originally in 1920 and completely rebuilt in 2001, this superb facility is available for hire. The hall has a fully-equipped stage and two committee rooms. Excellent kitchen facilities and car parking are also available.

The well-heated, comfortable, multifunction chapel, seating 45, and the smaller meeting room, are available for use by other village groups, under certain conditions. Includes toilet and basic kitchen, also overhead projector and fixed screen.

Pestalozzi International Village is situated in the parish of Sedlescombe and has excellent meeting rooms available for hire, summer accommodation, estate hire and catering.

HIRE OF SEDLESCOMBE SPORTSFIELD AND/OR PAVILION. Although the Parish Council owns the sportsfield and pavilion, they have been been leased to Sedlescombe Sports Association.

HIRE OF SEDLESCOMBE VILLAGE GREEN

Applications to use the Sedlescombe Village Green for an event should be submitted to The Clerk: Carol Hodgson at April Cottage, Church Road, Catsfield, Battle TN33 9DP or by e-mailing clerk@sedlescombe.org.uk at least one month prior to the event with as much information as possible. A copy of the hirer's current public liability insurance cover should be enclosed with the application. Hirers are advised that they should carry out a risk assessment and should ensure policies are in place that will reduce the identified risks as far as possible. No reliance can be placed on the Parish Council's public liability insurance cover unless negligence of the Council can be proved.

The following uses can usually be approved by the Clerk strictly in accordance with the Byelaws.

1. Fayres held by local organisations. Normal stands consisting of tables and/or tents are permitted. Bouncy castles and similar inflatables are not permitted UNLESS confirmation of the bouncy castle supplier's public liability insurance cover of at least £5 million is forwarded to the Parish Council and approved at least seven days prior to the event.

2. Use by local bands for open-air concerts.

3. Use by dancing groups (eg Morris Dancers, Pestalozzi children) but not disco groups.

4. Use by village churches for open-air services.

5. Use by film or television companies in consultation with the Chairman and/or Vice Chairman of the Council.

6. Any music should be restricted to two hours/event in order to safeguard the amenities of neighbouring properties.

REMINDER - ALL HIRERS SHOULD NOTE THAT THEY MUST PROVIDE CONFIRMATION TO THE PARISH COUNCIL THAT THEY HAVE THEIR OWN PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE COVER

ADVERTISING AN EVENT ON THE VILLAGE GREEN - CHANGES TO PARISH COUNCIL POLICY. Following deciding to stop all advertising on The Green, other than for the Parish Council, at a meeting of the Parish Council on Tuesday 14 May 2013,the policy was changed again on 14/01/14. This followed requests from local organisations for permission to be re-instated. The following resolution was passed:

RESOLVED: That, in order to control advertising on Sedlescombe Village Green,

  1. Only Parish Council or 100% charitable events that have received the Parish Council's approval will be allowed to position signs on the Village Green.
  2. Applications for permission to advertise Village events on the Green during the following year will be considered at the January Council Meeting and a maximum of four (other than parish council events) will be approved.
  3. A maximum of two signs will be allowed for each event..
  4. Signs should be on the Green for a maximum of seven days for each event (including the day of the event). Signs to be removed immediately after the event has ended and any damage caused to The Green repaired.
  5. Signs should be restricted in size to A1.
  6. Signs should be located where directed by the Council ensuring that drivers' visibility is not affected by the signs.

    It was further RESOLVED: That the following Village bodies will be allowed to advertise one event each on The Green in 2014: Sedlescombe Garden Society, Sedlescombe CEP School, Pestalozzi International Village, Spring Fayre. The situation will be reviewed in January 2015.
